Don’t Get Caught Off Guard: Hurricane Preparedness

In light of Hurricane Beryl forecasting, we want to remind you to be prepared this hurricane season. Here are some essential tips to ensure your safety and readiness:

  • Make a plan for evacuation: Identify evacuation routes and have a plan in place for where you will go if evacuation is necessary.
  • Gather disaster supplies: Stock up on water, non-perishable food items, batteries, a battery-powered radio, and cash. Supplies tend to disappear quickly when a hurricane approaches.
  • Review your insurance documents: Ensure your insurance coverage is adequate for potential damages and losses.
  • Document your property: Take photos or videos of the inside and outside of your home and its contents before leaving, and again upon your return.
  • Secure important documents: Take your birth certificates, social security cards, family photos, and other valuable documents with you if you evacuate.
  • Emergency contact numbers: Keep handy the phone number to file insurance claims and contact information for roofing companies for quick tarping if needed.
  • Keep records of expenses: Save all evacuation receipts and record mileage if evacuation becomes necessary.

Stay Safe and Informed

Lundy LLP recommends staying informed by following local news and weather advisories.
